The pandemic forced many children to drop out of school, putting many of them at risk of discontinuing their education permanently. Once out of school, many of these children are pushed into working to help ease the financial burden on their families. To help these children continue their education, CRY is helping put them in the open school system despite not being in formal school. We provide them with academic and counselling support to study and appear for their open school exams. This helps children who might not be able to re-enrol back in school for a variety of reasons to continue their education and pursue their dreams.

Here is what we do –

• Conduct awareness drives on the importance of education for communities and parents
• Identify children who dropped out and provide information about the open school system to help them continue their education
• Keep children motivated through fun and creative activities like storytelling, singing, dancing, etc
• Form children’s collectives to build the agency of children to promote their well-being and give them the confidence to pursue their aspirations
