Read MoreAs we approach the end of 2022, we look back to our favourite moments that make us feel grateful. It’s the people like YOU, who helped us give happier childhoods to India’s children. With your support, we could give our children a year full of possibilities with good education, health and nutrition and empower them to chase their dreams. Here’s a quick recap of all the good moments that were made possible only because of you -
1. 30000+ students reconnected to school education thanks to CRY’s Academic and Psychosocial Support Centres. The program was initiated to address the learning gap faced by children due to the pandemic. CRY received a Government order to run Bridge schools in Government schools in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. A prestigious moment indeed!
2. Reached out to 25000+ girls and 10 cr+ audiences through offline and online awareness activities under our campaign #LetsTalkAboutPeriods to smash period shame. Currently, we are painting the town red with murals to encourage normalizing periods!
3. Hailing from a small village in Bihar, where girls are married off at a young age - Jyoti stood tall against the norms and used education as a lever to fulfil her dreams. From a child marriage survivor to a respectful Police Constable today, her story is truly inspiring!
4. From working on farms for a livelihood to making a mark on the football field; Mamta Gujjar defied all odds of patriarchy and discrimination to become the Google Woman Icon in 2022. This is a shining example of how sports can change children’s lives!
5. With the right support, Revati, a young, shy girl from a small village in Andhra Pradesh found her voice through children collectives at CRY. Thereon, she was unstoppable - she continued her education, became an Ashoka Youth Venturer, and today she is a project engineer in one of India's largest IT companies!
6. The champions from Taratala continue to make us proud! They won Silver and Bronze medals in the 6th International Karate championship that was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata
7. CRY’s life skill modules for children were recognised by the education department of Budaun. They have ordered the implementation of life skills training in government schools including Kasturba Gandhi wherein dropout girls are enrolled back and stay in hostels. So far CRY has trained 9 Kasturba Gandhi’s and 27 Project school children impacting more than 4000 girls.
8. Namrata, a confident young girl from Udgir, Latur was determined to continue studying even after the barriers of COVID and financial circumstances faced by her family. With CRY’s support and resilient hard work, she scored a brilliant 98% in board examinations becoming a true role model for her peers!
9. Ganga Devi, A CRY Fellow leading our project in Ajmer was featured by The Week as a woman achiever! A child bride who had quit school, appeared for her board exams with former school dropouts to motivate them to never give up!
Thank you for everything that you’ve done for our children.
CRY wishes you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year!
