The event is being held for the benefit of CRY - Child Rights and You UK Limited (UK charity number 1119026). CRY is an organisation that works towards restoring rights to underprivileged children, especially in India.

Dragon Boat racing - Each race is between two or three boats. Each boat has between 6 and 10 paddlers and a drummer. The races are short (just a few minutes each) but fast and furious, and usually very competitive. Each team will race at least three times. Team members can be any age (from 8 years old upwards).

Teams consist of 10 or more people (if you cannot get a full team or would like to come along as an individual participant, enter anyway, and we will put together teams on the day). There will be prizes for the (a) winning team, (b) team with the best costumes, (c) team that raises the most sponsorship money for CRY and (d) individual who raises the most sponsorship money for CRY.

Lunch will be provided by Dragon’s Den winner Levi Roots’ Papine Jerk Restaurant. There will be some other activities on the day for children and adults.

There is no entry fee or minimum sponsorship to enter a team. Picton Howell is fully sponsoring the event itself, so all funds and donations raised will go directly to CRY.
